In high school, we studied several poets at the same time. English was never my favorite subject, so I only half paid attention. Now I tend to get those poets confused, especially Sylvia Plath and Margaret Atwood.
Last night I went into a bookstore and saw a new book by Margaret Atwood. All I could think was, “didn’t she stick her head in an oven?”

In going back and reading some of my entries of late, I’ve noticed that I use an exclamation point a lot. Six of my last nine posts have an exclamatory mark at the end of one or more sentences. In one post, I used four exclamation points at the end of one sentence. I’m really not as excited as my writing would indicate.

Another update: the “think” box up in the top right corner used to contain a quote from some noted philosopher or human being. Now it contains some random thought from my head that I extracted from the archives. Have any favorites? Let me know.

I didn’t watch the Superbowl last night. I did go to a Superbowl party for a little bit for the youth group, but basically ended up browning 15 pounds of meat for them. Then I went to Target to catch up on some of my errands (there were only about 8 people there). Good times.
No worries, though. You can watch the better Superbowl ads at adcritic.com. My favorites: the Pepsi ad with Bob Dole and the Budweiser really white guys ad. “What are YOU doing?”
