You know that place where you put stuff so that you won’t lose it and won’t forget where that very important thing is? I always forget where that place is.

Looks like I need to go check my mailbox. All the other Texans seem to be getting their Jesus Project videos.
Kevin Fox and MetaCookie rock my socks off.
Miracle Ed over at Blah Blog talks more about Nickel Creek, who I am listening to right now. Apparently I just missed their performance on Austin City Limits.
MC Hammer is back: “Welcome to the official Hammer website loaded with information and entertainment” (and huge animated gif’s).
I was updating the list of links over to the right over there —> and noticed that if I only had blogs beginning with “g”, “n”, “u”, “v”, or “y”, I would have a different blog for every letter of the alphabet. So I ask you, dear reader, can you recommend any blogs that start with those letters?
I bought some new CDs this afternoon. The first, the self-titled album by Nickel Creek, is just amazing. One girl and two guys in this amazing blend of bluegrass, folk, and celtic influenced music. They play mandolins, fiddles, and guitars and mix it all together with amazing harmonies.
Next is Bachelor Pad Royale, which I have not listened to yet, but promises to be “cool, crazy, wild, swingin’, jazzy, [and] sexy” according to the liner.
After hearing some of the best music ever in the Empanada Parlour in Austin, I am in love with jazz trios fronted by women. You know, piano, stand up bass, drummer, and female voice (with little to no saxophone – I think Kenny G has just ruined the sax for me). Yummy. I purchased two CDs that perfectly fit that genre (and if you can recommend more, please do): Diana Krall’s When I Look In Your Eyes and All For You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio. Wow. Diana’s voice is amazing, smoky.
Diana Krall will be in Dallas at the Meyerson in May. I bet it will be a fabulous show.
Strange and unintentional coincidence: two of my CDs have the song “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” on them.
Continuing my new obsession with jazz, I’m looking for cool jazz clubs and trios in the Dallas area. Found this list of blues clubs and some other potential clubs. Who wants to go?
I posted this at 8:07, yet it is time-stamped 7:53. Anyone else notice this problem?
Julie linked to this article yesterday, which says Ed is lovable, goofy, and a romantic. This is funny (to me, at least). Friday night, Billy, Amanda and I were discussing actors we found attractive. I said it wasn’t just the looks for me, it was the character. I love the bumbling romantic goof. And Ed is at the top of my list. He’s cute, yes, but he’s lovable, which is so much more important.
