IN DALLAS NORTHBOUND 75 CENTRAL AT CARUTH HAVEN A MAJOR ACCIDENT IS BLOCKING THE LEFT LANE. AN OVER TURNED TRAILER IS FACING THE WRONG WAY. YOUR BACK UP IS 5 MILE. NORTHBOUND ACCESS LANES ARE CLOSED.
I was literally five seconds in front of this accident. I saw it in my rearview mirror. Pardon me while I go freak out…

You are the only person I know who has come this close to 2 potentially serious accidents. Remember the spin-out on I-10 in rainy conditions when returning to Gainesville and UF? Just missed being squashed by a Greyhound Bus? Count your blessings, you must be doing something right.
I had a similar incident a few years back while living in San Antonio. On the way to work, in heavy rush hour traffic, I noticed that a old Firebird, was spinning out several car lengths in front of me. As the whole pack of traffic was moving at 60+ MPH this was definitely in the NOT GOOD category. I managed to jump onto the shoulder and squeeze past the mess, just as the whole pack of cars came to a screaching, crunching, glass-breaking halt. As I looked into my rear-view mirror I discovered I was the LAST car to get out of the mess unscathed. Over 20 cars damaged, and the highway closed all morning (IH-35 south).
Needless to say, I really needed a drink, and a change of underwear after that….
