Life is so good. Does

September 28th, 2001

Life is so good. Does it take some sort of emptiness to create a witty blog? I feel like all I do is gush over my emotional state lately, I haven’t thought of anything other than mushiness to blog. I’m trying to hold back to spare you from gagging.

The DFW Blogger happy hour Wednesday night was phenomenal. I am amazed that this little site that was started to just list a few blogs I knew about has turned into this wonderful community. A place where brilliant minds come together and enjoy each others’ company. A site which points out the latest content every hour, with possibilities for so much more. A group that makes thirty strangers feel welcome and instantly at ease.

Matt and I were discussing what it is that makes hanging out with the bloggers so much easier than any other social situation. I think we have more invested in each other than just the single serving you would find at most happy hours. These are people who you already know something about, who may know something about you. They have common interests. They are intelligent. They are well-spoken. They care. They are my kind of people.

I am so glad to have them as friends.

Last night, we watched Rushmore and talked til 4am again. I don’t know what it is about him, but I don’t ever want to let him leave. I feel so peaceful and content when he is near.

Tonight we’re going to The Door to watch Josh sing back-up for Heather Clickard, then staying for Andrew Peterson, whose new stuff I haven’t heard, but I like his older songs.

It has been a good week.

Whose idea was Rushmore? If it was his, hang on and don’t let go! If it was yours, tell him the same. I’m happy for your happy!
