I spoke to my aunt this afternoon. She asked her mom (my grandma) if she remembered Pearl Harbor. My grandma was 17 at the time of that attack. My grandmother said, “Yes. This is worse.”
I have spent the day watching coverage on all the news stations and looking for all the information I could find. A lot of these links I passed on to Davezilla, who has been keeping a running report of the more interesting links.
This morning, I went between being shocked and saying “Jesus” over and over and crying. Every time I watch the video of the second crash, I tear up.
This deliberate act changed the way I view the world in a two hour period. It feels less safe, less carefree. I can only imagine how those in New York and Washington feel, having this violation occur in their own backyards.
I only hope that we, as Americans and as a world, can rally against acts like these and peacefully take a stand together. We need to show that this will not get us down. We must peservere.
Yesterday I thought I had problems. Today, they are miniscule.
My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragedy.
Jesus. robots.cnn.com is still able to be accessed. This is awful.
I seem to have lost the ability to type correctly. I blame this on killing all the brain cells that stored that function with too many strawberry margaritas this weekend in Austin. I’m a sucker for a good strawberry margarita. Yummy.
All of my photos from this weekend in Austin and last weekend in College Station are now cropped, compressed and ready for public consumption. I’ll put a page up for them tomorrow.
Also tomorrow (or later today, I suppose), my recounting of the trip and the infamous brunch story, which will never live up to its hype.
Sorry for the lack of real content of late, I’ve been doing this thing called ‘living’ and it is remarkably refreshing. My apartment, however, is not refreshing. Time to do some cleanin’.
Trip to Austin notes: Julie’s account of Friday.
If you are in Austin Saturday night, please come to the Pre-Fray Dinner. You’ll be glad you did.
Happy Birthday Dad! I put your card in the mail Saturday, but the postman did not see fit to take it with him when he dropped off the mail, so it will be late. Until then, check out this photo which Brent sent to me today. It’s of all of us together with the great-grandparents in 1990.

Eric waves at the cows “for luck.”
Road trip! w00t! Eric, Big Dave, Ashleigh and I are going to College Station today to watch a Texas A&M game. I finally get to see what all this Aggie hoopla is about. Personally, I’m skeptical. I went to three years worth of University of Florida home games, and I highly doubt that these can even compare.
