I miss you guys
I return to Dallas shortly after 5pm Sunday. Something needs to occur Sunday night.
I return to Dallas shortly after 5pm Sunday. Something needs to occur Sunday night.
Greetings from muggy, overcast Florida! All the rain that passed through Dallas yesterday continued its jaunt through the southeast, right along my flight path. I finally made it to Panama City, an hour and half after I should have arrived, after being delayed in Atlanta due to the weather. My luggage is all damp, as it was unloaded and loaded again in the middle of a downpour, but luckily almost everything inside seems dry. I slept all of one hour last night and dozed off and on during my flights/layovers. I can’t believe it is just 2:38. I’ve been up almost 12 hours already.
Thanks be to Tina for dinner last night, to Karen for a ultra-cool necklace/earring set, and to the wonderful Amanda for driving me to the airport at 3:30am. I think I’d better get some sleep before I get too involved in thanking everyone I know. I’m a bit delirious right now.
Christmas shopping done. I only managed to spend another $50 on myself — all on sale, of course.
Now the next issue: how the heck am I going to get this stuff to Florida?! Who has a big suitcase I can borrow? Please, please, please!
Six shopping days to go and I’ve finally started Christmas shopping. Amount spent on others: $72. Amount spent on self: $30. Silly Leia! Christmas is about giving! Must do better tomorrow.
Movie tickets purchased: check.
Bladder emptied: check.
Cash for snacks, but no beverages: check.
Ready to see The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers: check.
I should have known the empty half-row of seats in the movie theatre were too good to be true. Sitting down to watch Star Trek: Nemesis, a distinct aroma overpowered me. Body Odor. Not your normal, everyday BO: the kind that smells like a person has been bathing in bean burritos. “Tina, do you have any perfume in your purse?” I inquired. She did, proving once again that there is a God and He is good.
A good half-dozen squirts in the general direction of the culprit gave us a few moments of reprieve, and caused outrageous laughter from the row behind us, where some girls had noticed the smell too.
Too bad we didn’t see Maid in Manhattan. They are probably a much better smelling crowd.
Tina and I have come up with a list of cheer-filled items to locate for Saturday night’s photo scavenger hunt. It should be a blast! You’re invited, you know.
And if you aren’t in Dallas, and would like to organize one yourself, Tina will send you this list. Just drop her an email. Worldwide Christmas Scavenger Hunt! (Thanks for the brilliant idea, Scott!)
Tina and I have had a brilliant idea. The Christmas spirit seems to be lacking everywhere we look, so this weekend, we are BRINGING ON THE CHEER, like it or not.
Announcing the First Annual Sco-Low Christmas Scavenger Hunt. Saturday night, we will organize at Tina’s house at approximately 9pm. From there, we will break into teams and each team will have two hours to take pictures of as many things on the list as possible. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
Tell everyone you know. Tell all your friends. Have them tell their friends. The more, the merrier, right?
What would you get a wookie for Christmas if he already owned a comb?
