At last, it is mine.

I’m the #1 result for Leia at Google now!!!
Woo hoo! Woo hoo! It has taken years to defeat that pesky princess.

This makes me the most important Leia ever. Because Google says so.

No Parking

This morning, our street was lined with these signs:
NO PARKING - A HOUSE WILL BE MOVED DOWN THIS STREET TONIGHT
Sure enough, a house came down the street late tonight. More pictures to come…

Because we are so freaking nice, you get three more days to nominate sites for a 2003 Anti-Bloggie. Get crackin’.

Operation Streaming Pixel

March 21st, 2003

Have you been watching any of the war coverage on the cable channels? It seems like every reporter is streaming their footage through a Real media stream. Oh look! Another pixelized tank! Reporters’ faces are just blocky blurs and it is hard to watch anything moving on the screen for any length of time. After watching the coverage of Operation Iraqi Freedom tonight, I must say that I am not experiencing any “shock and awe”, only “boredom and nausea”.

Sunshine Alert

March 17th, 2003

I’m not concerned with the severe thunderstorms forecast tonight. I’m concerned that the forecast is for partly sunny skies at 11pm.

Addendum: Dayquil makes the weather funny.

Alive, sort of.

March 14th, 2003

Back from SXSW and back into the swing of things, a bit worse for wear. Five consecutive nights of Shiner-drinking and minimal sleep have left me with a coughing, burning throat thing. I’ll post some sort of recap of my time in the next few days. For now, though, I’m going to drink a glass of Robitussin and go to bed.

Craziness

March 6th, 2003

I leave for SXSW in 14 hours.

To do:
» one client site to complete and one internal site to whip up
» two loads of laundry
» print up flyers for Monday night’s event
» go to Target and buy hair goo and probably some more retro socks
» get some cash
» pack
» call retreat center with questions about summer mission trip
» find some CDs for the road
» sleep would be nice
» make sure I know all the FTP info I’ll need since I’m borrowing Matt’s iBook and will probably have to make changes to site mentioned above
» print out maps from hotel to various locations in Austin
» replace Visor batteries

I did take a break from the rush and put together phase one of a resume site for my sister. DNS is still propogating, but once it does, you should check out CarolynScofield.com. More work on that site will come next week. It’s an all CSS extravaganza!

Also, there are still seven categories which need sponsoring in The AntiBloggies. The site has had 1600 hits in six days. Why wouldn’t you want to get your site linked on it?

Places you’ll find me during SXSW: Break Bread with Brad, KICK!, DFWblogs/HTownBlogs Cocktail Event, and the Bloggies presentation (I think I’m presenting along with Davezilla), just to name a few. Maybe I’ll take in some panels, too!

Alright, back at it.
