Operation Streaming Pixel
March 21st, 2003
Have you been watching any of the war coverage on the cable channels? It seems like every reporter is streaming their footage through a Real media stream. Oh look! Another pixelized tank! Reporters’ faces are just blocky blurs and it is hard to watch anything moving on the screen for any length of time. After watching the coverage of Operation Iraqi Freedom tonight, I must say that I am not experiencing any “shock and awe”, only “boredom and nausea”.

It’s videophones. I think it would be great to have a music video made out of those.
Somehow, I think the tv stations weren’t particularly concerned with your personal well being…
I like the videophones. I think it’s awesome that a reporter can go live from a tank in the middle of a desert in Iraq. I want a videophone myself. Just think of the possibilities….By the way…any anti-war protests fit in your busy schedule yet??
It is a damn shame that the TV networks can’t make the war interesting enough for us. Why don’t those military guys stand still long enough for us to get a good shot? And how come they won’t let us bring any decent lighting? What kind of reality show is this?
What are you saying, streaming is no good?
