A Plethora of Riches
I’ve just learned that I have three days that I must take off of work before the end of the year or I lose them. This surprises me as I haven’t even worked here five months, but who am I to judge?
So, the question becomes: what three days? I could a) take December 22-24 off, essentially getting 9 days off (December 20-28), b) take December 29-31 off, essentially getting either 8 or 11 days off (no word from corporate yet on Jan. 2), or c) take three random days off between now and then (one could be used as a day off before a Friday night holiday party, time to Christmas shop, etc.).
And, if I take 8-9 days off, should I extend my time at home in Panama City (I already have a ticket to fly out on the 24th and back on the 28th)? I love my parents, but that’s a loooong time to be in Panama City and away from my dog.
What to do?
Take the 29-31 option. You still get your days, you get to see your family, and there is no chance you will have to work on the 31st or the 1st (very important).
I think the answer depends on whether you’re going to put off your Christmas shopping–you may need the 22-24 to hit Target one last time.
I’d save one of those days for after Jan. 1st. With the crowd we all hang out in, it’s a guarantee you’re gonna need it for the New Year’s HANG OVER.
Bring the dog. Go home. There will be a time when there will be no one to go home to.
I agree with Katie. Not that I plan to die in the near future, but I enjoy having you here to entertain us! We never seem to have enough time to visit, play family games, watch movies together, go shopping and I’ll pay you to write my yearly Christmas letter! Love you! Mom
Also, any of your friends that are home for the holidays are welcome here for get-togethers.
And to think, I’m wondering if I should go into work on Thanksgiving or miss another day’s pay.
I agree with ed.
Go for the New Year Day run.
That way we could have a DFW Bloggers New Years Drink-A-Thon as well
