Vacation - All I Ever Wanted
May 20th, 2004
I depart this continent in 17 hours for ten days with seven other people in two countries.
I haven’t ever taken a real grown-up vacation before, so the trip should rock.
I say “should” because I haven’t gotten excited yet. Right now all I can think of is I just got home from a 13 hour day at work and my apartment is a disaster and I haven’t packed a thing. Thank goodness I got up extra early and hit the laundromat as soon as they opened their doors.
Off to clean, sleep for four hours, pack for two, be at work at 7am, leave at noon, be at the airport at 1, and depart the continent at 4.
(ok, that last part is exciting.)

*sniff* I’m gonna miss you guys! So get excited and have enough fun for me too, ‘k? Thanks!
how will i contact you once you’re here? damn… should have worked this out already.
We should have fairly regular access to email. Also, the hotel we’re at in London is listed on the trip blog.
Hope you all have a ton of fun!
Good Luck! Hope you have fun! Coming from someone who has been from South America to Europe to Japan, my best advice is don’t be afraid to REST. You will enjoy things so much more if you are well rested. The temptation may be to GO GO GO! Try to resist it a little.
Have fun! And Katie’s absolutely right - rest is your friend on vacation. It’s no good to run yourself so ragged that you end up exgausted or, worse, sick, before your vacation is over.
(Did I mention I’m jealous?)
