One of Us.
It’s really official this time. Blogging is no longer cutting edge.
My March 2005 Reader’s Digest arrived today and contains the following articlette on page 22:
Power to the Pod People
We knew iPods had seized pop culture when ski helmets became MP3 player-compatible. Now iPods don’t deliver just tunes. Shows such as public radio’s “Future Tense” turn their broadcasts into “podcasts” — recorded sound files iPod users can enjoy when they please. But you don’t need to be a pro to podcast. Anyone can post files at sites such as ipodder.org. Perhaps podcasts will become the blogs of 2005, though most, alas, sound like public access cable.
I was surprised to see a mention of podcasting and floored to see them so casually compare them to blogs as if it was something you might see joked about in Life in These United States.
does that mean we’re passe?
CNN.com and MSNBC.com both had big articles last week about podcasting. And the Daily Show did a hilarious spot on political blogging earlier this week.
Oh no! Not podcasting. I hate to pick those things up
