Finally Fall
Yesterday was the hottest day of our summer, topping out at 104°F. Last night, a cold front whipped through, with high winds, strong rains, and an amazing lightning show. Today, the high is 76°. Thank you cold front!
One place I should not be stuck during the passing of a cold front is Lowes. $396 later, I now own a new dishwasher (the answer to the question “Can a Mazda Protege5 fit a dishwasher inside?” is “yes”), hedge trimmers, jigsaw, drill/screwdriver combo, root killer stuff to dump in toilets, a new pneumatic thingy for my front storm door because the tab thing broke and I can’t make the old one stay open anymore, and tons of other stuff that I don’t even remember now. All stuff I needed. Now I just have to find the time to actually use it.
Yup, damn hot. 106° in parts of Dallas yesterday. Yeowzer.
Ah, the joys of home ownership . . . the Hub and I call Lowes “The Hundred Dollar Store”, because every single time we go in there we drop $100.
I’m so glad for fall arriving that I went out today and bought some deck furniture.
Welcome to home ownership. Keep your checkbook ready for more. But, it’s all worth it. Crank up the music and all is good.
