Shiny Web Bubbles

November 14th, 2005

I’m quoted in today’s Star-Telegram article Internet, Version 2.0 (use login bogusname@yahoo.com / bogusname1) on the “Web 2.0″ trend. I may be the only person who could work “shiny” and “bubble” into a quote in a technology article.

Heh. Consumating just got bought by CNet. Who can argue that it’s not bubble 2.0? Ben Brown has so much charisma he could get rich selling mud in New Orleans.

I actually think there’s lots of useful stuff in Web 2.0, but the same thing is happening again… there’s this kernel of goodness, and so many fakers build up around it that it pulls the whole thing down.

No offense, but, uh, ElfURL is the leading feature in the story?

How about upcoming.org, or del.icio.us, or flickr, or chicagocrime, or…?
