CD Mini-Review: Nelly Furtado’s “Loose”

June 20th, 2006

If you, like me, enjoyed the previous works of Nelly Furtado for their feisty folkiness, I do not advise running out to pick up her new album Loose. I’d sum it up as saying it would be a great album if a) it was her first album and she was 16 years old, b) she didn’t jump on the rap-backed, over-processed, Gwen Stefani bandwagon or c) the current year was 1986.

Seriously, you bought it?? Did you not hear the first song? Leia, I’m ashamed.

Nope, hadn’t heard it. I rarely listen to the radio. I seriously bought it used, if that helps.

Aw. And I had high hopes for her new cd, too.

Yeah, I liked her previous incarnation before she turned into a hook girl from a rap video. Disappointing.

    Blech. I agree.
