One of my favorite sites of the last year is Farecast. Farecast aims to predict if airfares will go up or down to your destination. I used it at Christmas, watching the fares for a few months to see when the best dates for traveling the cheapest would be.
Even better, you can set up RSS feeds for your specific flight parameters. For example, say you needed to fly from DFW to Columbus, OH the first week in April. Input those dates, your cities, and search for the lowest fares across most airlines. Then, click the link for “Track this trip with RSS” and you can add the RSS feed for that specific date/city combination to your favorite RSS reader. The RSS feed will help you monitor if fares are estimated to be increasing or decreasing in the coming weeks.
It’s a must-have for the savvy traveler.

Today was my first day back in class for this semester. I’m taking a course in private sector issues Saturdays on campus, and Organizational Leadership and Behavior online. I also have to go to campus several times this semester for my internship preparation class, even though I have no idea how I can possibly do an internship.
For those keeping tabs, I’m still rocking the 4.0, but this semester might be the end of it.

The Parade of Meat at Fogo de Chão was delicious, and quite the experience. My favorite was the filet wrapped in bacon. Meat wrapped in meat. How can you go wrong? Now, time to slip into a meat coma.

Friday is Jim’s birthday! We’re going to celebrate by dining amongst friends churrascaria-style at Fogo de Chão. Time to get out the fancy eatin’ pants.

At work today, we discovered a common love for CSI: Miami for its cheesinesss, especially that of the lead, David Caruso’s Horatio Caine. If you think can handle the purest essence of Horatio, you should check out Endless Caruso One Liners.

After staying indoors for most of the last three days, I am ready to get out! The Arctic Apocalypse that threatened all weekend caused us to cancel plans in favor of not crashing the car into a lamp post.
Today, however, was enough. We escaped to Sonic for some lunch. Turns out, after you stop eating fast food for a while, it doesn’t sit as well as when you’re eating it near-daily. I guess that’s a good lesson to learn (though I probably should have picked that up watching Super Size Me two years ago), and we’ll chalk that one up to my improving diet of late.

So far, we’re faring well here on the east side of Dallas. It hasn’t really gotten below freezing until tonight. We’ve gotten a little bit of freezing rain, but haven’t witnessed the new ice age prophesied by the weather forecasters. The ice pellets continue to be forecast for tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see what the morning brings.

Dallas is in for a weekend of potentially icy weather, as our temperatures hover around 32°F and three waves of precipitation are forecast. The first wave came through last night and today, bringing a ton of rain, some localized flooding, and chilly temps. Two more waves are to come through tomorrow, and there is the possibility that ice on the power lines, combined with strong winds in the third wave could result in power outages in the area.
DallasNews.com is blogging the latest on their Ice Alert: Weather Blog.

Even though it was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (who did Amelie, which I love), and written by Joss Whedon (who did Buffy, Angel, and Firefly, which I love), Alien: Resurrection really stinks.
