Say you’re in town this weekend and want to see a play. As your in-town source for exciting events at UTA, I can tell you that you’re in luck, because Urinetown opens tonight.

The dress?

February 27th, 2007
The dress?

I’ve just ordered this dress by Kiyonna. It’s more than I want to spend, but I love its modest, elegant, and classy style. I hope it looks as good on me as it does this sassy model.

Beat Down by the Bridal Industry

February 26th, 2007

I am tired of looking for a wedding dress. Is it too much to ask for a simple, below-the-knee to mid-calf length, ivory or white, plus-size dress that is maybe a little bit modest for under $200? I don’t think I’m being too demanding.

Smooth

February 25th, 2007

Today, I gave myself a papercut on a 6-pack of underwear. That’s talent, folks.

Be Fizzy

February 24th, 2007
Be Fizzy Taken Shirt

Today, I was happy to discover that an old acquaintance of mine is running a really cool business of her own: she’s making "I’m a bride" shirts that don’t suck.

I ran into Paige at the Fort Worth Bridal show. Along with a friend, she’s started Be Fizzy, which features subtle, well-designed shirts and hats for brides that aren’t all girly and pink and sparkly.

Not that there’s anything wrong with girly and pink and sparkly. It’s just not me.

Master Procrastinator

February 23rd, 2007

I am a master procrastinator. If something doesn’t jump out and excite me, I will put it off until it is absolutely due. Case in point: the risk analysis paper due for class tomorrow morning. Don’t Call Me in the Morning

February 22nd, 2007

I don’t like morning phone calls. They are always bad news. This morning, it was my mom calling to say my dad was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. He’s home now, and doing better — a kidney stone was causing immense pain and nausea, but he has good drugs now. Nothing good happens before 9am, and when the phone rings, it’s bound to be bad.

Something New Every Day

February 21st, 2007

Today, I learned that what I had erroneously always thought of as Daylight Savings Time is actually properly daylight-saving time. Knowledge Source: AP Stylebook.

Internal Clock is Off

February 20th, 2007

Today, by 10:30am, it felt like I’d done enough for it to be noon.
By noon, it felt like 2pm.
By 5pm, it felt like 8.
Now, it’s 10:30pm, and I’m tired like it’s 2am.

It’s been a long day.

Slightly Over Budget

February 19th, 2007

Today, I was quoted $2000 for 2 hours of use of a chapel downtown for our wedding. That’s pretty much what I want to spend on the whole she-bang! The wedding industry is such a racket. Back to the drawing board.
