Today, I learned that what I had erroneously always thought of as Daylight Savings Time is actually properly daylight-saving time. Knowledge Source: AP Stylebook.

And it starts like three weeks earlier this year, on 3/11/07.

Ah, AP style. I had an entire class in college devoted to memorizing it. Good times.

    1. Yeah, it’s good that you learned that finally since they’re going to start seriously screwing with it this year. Thank the golf lobby, by the way. They’ve spent millions convincing politicians that we need more daylight for golfing …
    2. I hate AP style. They disavow delimiting the last item in a list with a comma and so I distrust everything they say.

I have known for years that there was no “s” at the end of Saving, but thank you for teaching me to write it out properly. Now when I do my annual complaint post about how stupid it is (new! improved! 3 weeks early!), I will spell it correctly.
