Another year, another post. Let's see if I can remember to do this for awhile. I went back and read what I had written before and kind of liked the idea of a diary. What has happened since 2/22/02? Well, I am still working at the same job, and that is ok. Dan and I are engaged! He popped the question on 5/24/02 and I said yes. We are getting married in October next year. :) My cat, Ginger moved in with us and we have taken to calling her Gato. She's pretty funny. Other than that, I guess I 'll try and keep up with this. posted at 20:01 | discuss2.22.2002 Oh, and he cleaned up the glass as well... but he couldn't find my keys which later turned up under the couch. posted at 20:56 | discussOK so maybe I am not a blogging fool. Let's see... what has happened since Feb.9? Valentine's Day! Yea! I have NEVER had a real Valentine before and so I was very excited about the celebrating this day instead of despising it. However, it did not start out well. I woke up.. .LATE... very very late... and thus was on my way to work LATE LATE LATE. Since Murphy usually rules these situations, my keys were GONE. Eaten by the evil key spirits. Dan, the lucky, did not have to work so I thought it would be ok to steal his car. On my way out, I knocked a glass and it shattered on the floor. I got to work and had a really bad day. Just a total grouch, and everyone was irritating me.... it was like 30 degrees outside and the wind was whipping around at about 50mph. HORRIBLE. I came home early and on the way called Dan. He acted all strange, and I could hear people in the background... he said he was at home.... Anyway, I just drove home as fast as possible yelling at invisible people in the car, just grouchy grouchy grouchy. I turn the corner to our street and saw the most romantic sight in the world. Dan, perched on my bicycle, being whipped around in the wind, with a huge jacket and one of those winter hats with a yarn ball on top.... holding down a huge Valentine's Day balloon. I wanted to kick myself in the leg for being such a horrid person all day. He tried to hide the balloon and motioned for me to drive on home. When he got home, FREEZING, he even apologized for not getting me flowers for my first Valentine's Day (with a Valentine) but he couldn't carry them on a bike. AWWWWW!!! Other than that, not much is happening. Work is fine. Easy easy. I still love red wine, and eating. I go to the gym pretty often. I live for chocolate. I am learning to cook. I watch Trading Spaces and Oprah whenever I can. I am reading a book called Mother of Pearl. posted at 20:54 | discuss2.9.2002 Look at me, a blogging fool! I am used to staying up until like 2am... and Dan got here at 10pm absolutely exhausted. See, Dan is not the best housekeeper in the world and he had to check out of government housing today. This involves having a very very clean place. So, apparently he spent all a last night mad cleaning. He arrived. He ate. He kissed me. He went to sleep. I, on the other hand, am wired. I have subjected myself to HBO. WHOA!!!! It is PORN PORN PORN after midnignt!! Scary Scary! I can't believe it. Personally, I think HBO sucks.. but it is free for 6 months. I see now why so many people get it... PORN after midnight!! I think I am going to go drink some more red wine. posted at 00:24 | discuss2.8.2002 What a terrible blogger I am! Phooey. Well, after much traveling around... all the way to Maine at one point. Maine is an interesting place... lots of pretty scenery and quaint little businesses. HOWEVER, I do NOT recommend going there in January. June or July is probably the time to go to Maine. Anyway, then I got back from there and got settled into my job. So far, it's pretty cool and I do some interesting things like fly in the simulator and stuff and it's not too hard. Owning a house is interesting. For instance, if you drop salsa on the carpet in the apartment you might think "CRAP! I won't get my deposit back if I don't get that out of the rug". In a house you own, it's like you are personally insulted by the salsa on the carpet... that's salsa on YOUR carpet. Anyhow, I've been doing odd things like mopping incessantly and oiling all the wood in the house. I am such a wood oiler... it cleans, it conditions, it shines. I still have a lot of empty rooms. Furniture is expensive. I also am under the impression that I will be needing a lawnmower when the winter ends. I have never mowed a lawn. I might even need a weedwhacker. I have also taken up cooking. Really cooking, like out of a cookbook. I went to the store with a LIST of ingredients I needed for my WEEKLY menu. It's been a lot of fun. Some things have turned out (shish-kabobs yum!) and some things were no good (white gravy on eggs, YUCK). I realized I couldn't live off of candy (I"m a sugaholic), soup, tuna fish and microwavable food forever. Dan makes turkey burgers and pancakes really well. Here is a joke. HAHAHAHAHA posted at 00:42 | discuss1.2.2002 Happy New Year! I am going to try to put little comments on here more often. I have moved into my house! Woohoo! I'm pretty excited about it and every once in awhile I get a wild hair and run around willy nilly up and down the stairs and all around. But then I realize that I can do that because there isn't really any furniture in it. I went with Dan to Chicago for Christmas. Fun fun. I missed my family a lot. But it was either see him then or see him in Feb.... He got me one of those digital cameras (I HIGHLY reccommend to anyone who has the means. I bought him a GPS (handheld) which he loved. I would almost say he is addicted to it. It tells you your position, speed where you are on a map, how far you are from anywhere in the world and about 10 billion other things. It caused a few fights when he tried to read it and mess with it while careening down the highway at like 80.4 miles per hour. Then I went to Tennessee and met up with my parents and my other relatives. Interesting. I hung out with some big whig quarterback named Josh from Oklahoma. He was a normal dude, who is apparently a millionaire since he is going to play in the NFL. Nice. posted at 11:26 | discuss12.3.2001 I just realized perhaps it wasn't correct to encompass all Gators into the "ya'll stink" comment. "Leia the Supreme Gator" does not stink, because "Leia the Supreme Gator" graciously supports this little blog and redesigned it so nicely without me even asking. posted at 17:29 | discussWent to go close on the house.... very easy to close I must say. Just a little scanning over some documents to make sure that the numbers look right, and then a signature here and a signature there and a signature here and a signature there and a signature here. Well, you get the idea. Have a little medical problem concerning my eyes that has been worrying me a lot. It might knock me out of flying, so anyone who would like to say a quick prayer for me, I would very much appreciate it. Southwest Airlines, although reasonably priced is really horrible!!! The no seating assignment thing is ridiculous. I stood in line 20 minutes to check in at the ticket counter and check my bag, then 15 more minutes in security, then a whopping 25 minutes at the gate to get the little plastic "number". Now the number puts you in a group either 1-30, 31-60 or 61-90. You don't line up 1,2,3... etc to get on the plane, You just get in those groups. So you can guess what happens. Rather than sitting comfortably, groups will stand in a huge huddle next to the gate giving each other dirty looks. It is ridiculous!!!!! Then when you get on the plane everyone has sat in the window and the aisle leaving a string of "bitch" seats. Families get seperated, couples sit apart, etc.... It was pure chaos. I almost think I will pay the extra $50 and fly a normal airline. ARGH. And for Dan... GO BEARS (although a bit of a pathetic perfomance against the Lions) 11.26.2001 How rude of me... my good pal Leia sets up a nice Blog for me and I don't even have the common courtesy to use it. So here is an update. I spent some time in Corpus Christi, TX recently. I don't know what to think about that town. There was a lot to do, especially in the downtown area but it was almost like no one was there! It had a definate "ghost town" feel to it. Maybe we just weren't in the right place at the righ time. We went and toured the USS Lexington which is a decommisioned aircraft carrier that has been turned into a really pretty neat museum. Definately recommend it. Then I went back to home for Thanksgiving. I brought Dan with me (wooooo-ooooooo bringing a BOY home..hee hee). I think he had fun. My mom certainly cooked up a lot of good food. YUM! It was warm enough to take out their jetski... but if you fell in the water OW!! it was COLD!!! Right now, I'm not doing a lot. Sort of just waiting for the next move. Go Bears. posted at 09:19 | discuss |
